Blog post : long or short post

Hi,

Chinese New Year and Valentine Day are coming soon. I would like to wish all my blog readers Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy Valentine Day.

I believe many new bloggers would wonder whether to write short or long post in your blog. Famous bloggers such as Shoemoney, John Chow and Pro Blogger (Darren Rowse) produce long posts. Their sentences are good too, how do we write like them?

I admit my main business model is not blogging. I am more towards affiliate marketing and my main job is to receive traffic which does not require writing skill.

1. Long post
If you have wider views about something and love to write, long post is encouraged. If  you do not have any interest and do not know how to write (like me), I suggest that you produce  your post once in a while.

2. Short post

Not a problem if you are producing short post like the one in my blog. But I would suggest you update your blog frequently since you want loyal traffic to your blog.

How frequent should you update your blog? It is up to you, but I choose once every two days would be ideal but if you want to attract more quality traffic, update your blog every day, no harm done, right?

You have traffic but no sales?

I was asked this question from one of my students, “I have done article marketing and promoted my squeeze page but why nobody opted in and buy?” I know this has happened to many people, so I am going to share with you some techniques of how to increase opt-in and sales.

Here is the checklist:

1. See the total of your conversion. Do you know what a conversion is? A conversion is the total of sales or opt-in or traffic that enters your website. For example, if your squeeze page has 100 visitors a day, and you receive 10 opt-ins, this means your conversion rate is 10%.

A normal rate of squeeze page conversion is around 40% to 70%, depends on your copy. My squeeze page at 2daysstrategy.com has an average of 47% conversion rate. How to increase conversion? Look at my next point :

2. Headline plays a very important role. If you don’t have bombastic headline, the visitors would not read until the end of your squeeze page. Use catchy words like “free”, “instant”, “limited” to attract visitors to read more.

These three words are able to increase conversion and thus the visitors take action immediately.

3. Bullet points, simple and yet compact explanation are required in your squeeze page because visitors do not want to read lengthily. Their eyes are more focused on simple sentences before reading the whole page. So, make sure your squeeze page is short and compact, ok?

4. Professional graphics. If you create normal and simple graphics , it is better not to put any graphics at all! Invest your money for professional graphics designer and you won’t regret it!

About Your PLR Products

Today is the 8^th Feb which means it has been 39 days passed in the year 2010. Time passes so fast that we hardly notice it! How were your new year’s resolutions? Have you started your steps towards them?

This year, there are more making money programmes on the internet. Last year (2009) the CPA programme was the centre of attraction, so was the membership programme.

From my observation, this year more people will join the internet business in various niches, and more PLR products will be sold because of the high demand for these products.

I am not doing any promotion here, don’t get me wrong…

When the PLR products become the trend this year, it means when you want to get more sales easily, create your own product (make sure it is unique) and sell it straight to the market.

I can see that there are many demands for PLR products, it doesn’t matter what niches they might be. If you have some experience in playing golf, you can produce an ebook about golf. If you have some experience in tackling girls, you can share your tips on “how to tackle the girls”, create an ebook and package it as PLR product.

When you are selling in the PLR package, you need to prepare the graphics as well as the salesletter.  Sell the PLR product as if you are selling franchise for your business.

You can promote your product in the forums if you do not have email list. One of my favourite forums is the Warrior Forum. You can make announcement about your product there.

I think you got the idea already, right? Here is what you can do :

1. Produce ebooks/video/audio in digital form with their graphics and the salesletters.

2. Create a special website to sell your product.

3.Promote your offer in the forums. I would suggest the Warrior Forum because many internet entrepreneurs are always searching for PLR products (including myself!)

You will see that this is a profitable business.

What is important, just use the technique given above!

What we can learn from the launching of iPad?

I was supposed to write this post last week since iPad was launched then. It was a big hit and everybody was talking about it. For those who do not know,  iPad is a tablet produced by Apple. It functions as a connection between iphone and Macbook. Some say iPad is actually the bigger version of iphone.

Before iPad was launched, there were circulated rumours that iPad would change the world for being the first tablet functioning like a computer. Everybody was  talking about the greatness of iPad.  Was it true what they claimed to be? People believed iPad would cost around USD1000.

On its launching day, everyone was stunned because the price was only USD400! iPad even launched market attack to Amazon which focusing on ibook application. Of course I would chose iPad compared to Kindle when reading ebook!

At Twitter, many people tried to sell Kindle and exchanged it with iPad. With iPad , you can play 3D games, web surfing, Twitter and Facebook and you can even type just like the Macbook.

Unfortunately, after a few days of its launching, gadget observers concluded iPad as a failure. This is because iPad does not support flash (meaning no Farmville, Cafe World and videos). Furthermore, it does not support multitasking (It is just a bigger version of iphone).

There are some vital facts that we have learnt from the launching of iPad :

• We must always overdeliver in producing product. When we over deliver and give more than what the customers want, the customers are happy and satisfied thus they would promote our product and talk good things about it. These would obviously increase sale.

• Do the prelaunch of your product without stating its price. This strategy works  and  it is very effective. I personally use this strategy. In the case of iPad, everybody was guessing the actual price of this item, but Steve Jobs kept the secret and tight-lipped even at how iPad looked like.

• Give your product for the experts and the gurus to review it. They would promote your  product . Steve Jobs gave his iPad to big names such as Jason Calacanis (the founder of Engadget) to  write some review about the item.

When iPad was launched , the world was excited  and nervous. It was even promoted at the Grammy award!

So, from now onwards, when you want  to introduce and launch your product, think carefully the strategies that you might use in order to gain the maximum  result.

5 reasons why I am using Twitter (and you should use it too!)

Twitter is beginning to become my favourite, believe it or not, I have four Twitter accounts! I use them for marketing purposes, personal as well as experimenting  my strategies.

Ok, let me tell you the five reasons why I am using Twitter :

• Easy to update

Twitter is also known as micro blogging. You don’t need  to write lengthily the info that you want to share with others . You can update your info as smses . If you are using iphone, you can  simply update  it anywhere you go. Easy,  isn’t it?

• A proven method communicating with popular people.

The celebrities and VIPs have no time to talk to you! With Twitter, you are able to follow their developments and their updates and  the possibility that they might reply yours is higher.

• The ability to change the graphic profile.

This is an interesting part about Twitter. With Twitter, you are able to change your graphic profile. Unlike Facebook, you are unable to do so. As for Twitter, you can add information just like in your website and your blog. Have a look at what I have done with my Twitter.

• Getting news updates the fastest way.

Normally, if you  want to know the latest news in CNN, SkySport and Mashable  , you need to go to their websites one by one and read them.  But with Twitter, you can get the latest news in one go, you don’t need to go to their websites anymore!

• Possesses many applications.

Unlike Facebook, Linkedln, FriendFeed and MySpace, Twitter possesses many applications such as Twitter Karma, Twitter Glide, Twitterdeck, Twittelator and  others. As for myself,  I only use Twitter Karma, Twitterdeck and Twittelator.

What is the utmost important is that you need to always update your Twitter. Do not do promotion every day because your followers do not want that type of news. They want to know your latest developments and achievements.

Do not do mass follow to get followers as this technique is a waste of time and you do not get quality followers! I do hope that you can apply the methods that I am sharing above.

Autopilot Technique (My success blueprint)

I have just finished my class. I feel that I need to share some tips today. My mum has just called, asking me to come home today and sign some cheques!

It is really fantastic to receive cheques every month without doing any promotion!

Sounds weird, right?  But, this is the truth!

The secret is that   -  I do lots of autopilot techniques. I am busy with my study so…I set up everything within a week and let it run on its own, cashing in money every single day (just like the ATM machine) , 24/7 every month!  Oh! This is superb!

Ok, let me share more of my secrets here :

1. Giveaway Free Report

It is quite easy to create a free report. Get the PLR product and edit its content 50% from the original product. The vital part is that you need to edit the graphic, then change the name of the product and add advertisements in your report. Make sure the advertisements are powerful and strong enough to attract customers to click to your links.

1. Create your own squeeze page.

Make sure your squeeze page is able to increase conversion .There are a few techniques to increase the conversion rate. You can have a look at these two examples  of my   squeeze  page  at  www.2daysStrategy.com and www.AffiliateTopSecret.com (you need to click ‘close’ and the squeeze page would pop-up there)

3. Exhibit your squeeze page  link  in Facebook and Twitter

I use many viral software, one of them is Viral Inviter. This is the most effective software  as I use it in Facebook and Twitter. With this software, I continuously getting good quality content updates.  From there, I begin to get many followers and they simply click to the links in my profile if they want to know more about myself.

Make sure you put your advertisements ( such as the banner of the affiliate product that you are promoting) in your report, at the download page as well as in your follow up emails. Remember to announce your links in your facebook. With this method, you will have  many followers and many more will click to your links, unnoticed!

Well, this is the autopilot technique that I am using. You only need a week to set up everything. Remember, this technique needs your patience and smart work.

My First Post!

This is my first post in this blog. For your information, I have created this blog and its domain for quite sometime now, but since I don’t have much time to write, I just let it be.

Then, sooner or later, I realize that I need to do some writing even though my actual interest is more towards marketing. I feel that I need to share something with my readers, especially in this 2010.

One of my new year’s resolutions is to contribute more quality content articles as well as building trust and relationship with my readers.
